Clean-tech company Arkyne Technologies was named the World’s Most Disruptive Startup of the Year by Google in 2016. The creation of three Barcelona-based entrepreneurs, its mission is to change the world by generating the energy our cities need from the forests that gave birth to our planet. Their brainchild is Bioo, a clever technology able to generate a sustainable source of electricity by working with the nature of leaves as solar panels, and that’s set to power a range of useful gadgets – first up is Bioo Pass, designed to give instant access to an existing wifi network using the power of plants, and Bioo Lite, a phone charger.
