ecoLogicStudio is an international architecture and design innovation firm specialized in biotechnology for the built environment. Co-founded in London in 2005 by Claudia Pasquero and Marco Poletto, the studio has built a unique portfolio of biophilic sculptures, living architectures and blue-green masterplans. In 2018, it has joined the Synthetic Landscape Lab and the Urban Morphogenesis Lab to create the PhotoSynthetica venture. Together they are developing scalable, nature based design solutions to the imminent impact of climate change and to our contemporary quest for carbon neutrality.

The work of ecoLogicStudio is included in the celebrated permanent collections of the Centre Pompidou in Paris, the FRAC Center in Orleans, the London Design Museum and the ZKM Media and Art Center in Karlsruhe. HORTUS ZKM has won the prestigious Idea Tops Award as best digital architecture, while Bio.Tech Hut was finalist at the World Architecture Festival. The PhotoSynthEtica cladding system has received the Award of Excellence from the European Commission in 2018.

ecoLogicStudio has also been involved in a series of urban blue-green planning projects in Ulcinj (Montenegro), Orleans (France), Aarhus (Denmark), Barcelona (Spain) and Tallinn (Estonia). In 2019 and 2020 ecoLogicStudio has collaborated with the United Nations Development Program’s City Innovation Fund to develop a green planning workflow integrating Artificial Intelligence and named DeepGreen.

The work of ecoLogicStudio has featured in many international architectural books and magazines. The Metropolis Magazine in NY nominated ecoLogicStudio among the 10 most interesting global emergent practices. Claudia Pasquero, director of ecoLogicStudio has been recently included in the top 10 of Wired Smart List, selecting global innovation rising stars. Fast company has given eLS an honourable mention for World Changing Ideas.
