For 35 years, Meredith Pillon has specialised in destination marketing and travel public relations managing award-winning campaigns for more than 20 government including Spain, Greece, Cyprus, Hong Kong, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand, Mexico, Argentina, Puerto Rico, the Cayman Islands, New Zealand, Kenya and Zimbabwe.
Meredith has handled successful campaigns for some of the world’s award-winning luxury resorts, numerous hospitality companies, six international airlines and seven luxury and special interest cruise lines. She has directed image and publicity campaigns for the Spanish regions of Andalucía, Castilla & Leon and Valencia, the city of Quito and the Brazil Tour Operates Association. The agency recently completed a ten-year assignment promoting the four provinces of Atlantic Canada.
Before founding her agency, Meredith served as the head of the travel and tourism practices at several international public relations firms including Saatchi & Saatchi’s Rowland Company and Ted Bates International.
Seventeen years ago, she established Meredith Pillon Marketing Communications in New York City, with the goal of pairing the expertise and strategic vision of a large international agency with the flexibility and rapid response geared to today’s fast-moving world using her close relationships with the national media.
The agency has experience in all aspects of public relations and travel marketing from developing strategic campaigns that increased arrivals and staging major events and art exhibitions to writing press releases and organising effective press trips.
Meredith has advised destinations on tourism development, sustainability and terrorism. Her expertise in crisis communications is well established having handled hurricanes, hotel fires, ship groundings, terrorism and a war.
Meredith is a founding member of NOW and feels it is crucial to raise awareness for how each traveller can make a difference for the planet’s future.
