Whatley is a 23-bedroom luxury country house hotel with spa and restaurants, set amidst 12 acres of grounds. We believe that providing an outstanding, high standard and luxurious experience should not come at the cost of our planet. To ensure that our sustainability aims are clear and achievable, we have partnered with EarthCheck, Greenly and NOW. We are deeply focused on reducing our negative environmental impact and having a positive benefit to our community. With a 2019 baseline, our Science Based Decarbonization Target was to reduce 95% of Scope 1 & 2 carbon emissions (CO2e) by 2028 and we surpassed this by achieving a 98% reduction for 2022. Our focus is now on reducing our Scope 3 emissions, mainly sitting in the supply chain. We aim to reduce these emissions by 5% per guest night per year, with a 2023 baseline. For the past three years, we have invested in carbon offset to balance our emissions and support the Sustainable Development Goals to deliver on our core value to be a regenerative business that respects nature and nurture its people.
