Made Blue is a foundation with a threefold objective: Promoting clean drinking water in developing countries; Raising awareness of the water footprint of organizations, products and consumers; Everything that is related to this in the broadest sense, everything that belongs to it and/or everything that can be conducive to this. Made Blue makes water for developing countries by selling water in, for example, catering establishments in The Netherlands.
Since the third quarter of 2017, Grand Hotel Huis ter Duin and Made Blue have already provided 77.775.860 litres of clean drinking water in developing countries. This means that more than 1065 people over the whole world, will be permanently given access to clean drinking water for the next 10 years… and probably well beyond.

They are trained to support and assist people with a physical disability or epilepsy.

Furthermore, 270.000 trees are felled every day for the production of toilet paper. Therefore The Good Roll has been created, an initiative to tackle both problems. The mission of The Good Roll is: safe and clean toilets for everyone! Also, the Good Roll gives 50% of the net profit to build toilets in different countries in Africa. The Good Roll also makes toilet roll from recycled paper, making it 100% tree-friendly.
Grand Hotel Huis ter Duin replaces the “normal” toilet rolls with the toilet rolls from The Good Roll.

From the coffee-plantations in South America and Africa, to the local roaster in Arnhem, Peeze works together with the farmers to be involved in the production process as much as they can. The company believes that coffee could be and should be more sustainable. They work as climate-neutrally as possible in order to achieve this.

In a world where ownership is no longer the most important thing, but sustainability and convenience.
At the start of 2021, Grand Hotel Huis ter Duin had 4 electric charging stations. This has been expanded to 16 charging stations in the summer of 2021.

In cooperation with Grondstofjutters, we encourage walkers to collect plastic with a jute bag on the beach. Walkers can pick up their jute bags at various beach pavilions, including Breakers Beach House. When handing in a full bag, they will receive a homemade chocolate bar. Breakers Beach House will process the waste.
