Associated Gas Recovery and Utilization at Khamilah oil field area at Block-27 in Wilayat lbri of the Sultanate of Oman consists of the recovery and utilization of natural gas found in association with oil at Khamilah oil field at Block-27, Wilayat Ibri of Al- Dhahirah Governorate, the Sultanate of Oman. The purpose of the project activity is to deliver recovered gas to the national gas pipeline to meet energy needs of end-users, and also to reduce local air pollution due to flaring.

Investments in this project support the recovery and utilization of associated gas from the Khamilah oil field in Oman. The funds are used to cover the costs associated with the recovery, pre-treatment, and transportation of the recovered gas. Additionally, they support the implementation and monitoring of the project's emission reductions, ensuring that all relevant parameters are continuously measured and validated.

QUANTIFICATION: Strictly adhere to the CAR Forest Protocol for Mexico version 3.0, which is verified by Ruby Canyon Mexico, a verification body that corroborate the climatic, environmental, and social benefits generated, together with Conhuás ejido members.

ADDITIONALITY: Detailed investment and sensitivity analysis establish that the project is not financially attractive without carbon revenue and is not a common practice in the sector; and demonstrating that the project would not occur in the absence of the project activity.

LONG-TERM STORAGE: The report confirms that the emission reductions are real, measurable, and provide long-term benefits to climate change mitigation. The project’s emission reductions are estimated to average 432,416 tCO2e per year over a ten-year period.

SUSTAINABILITY: Recovery and utilization of associated gas that would otherwise be flared, reduce CO2 emissions and contributes to local environmental and economic benefits. Contributes to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) 7 and 13.
