Education for All Morocco (EFA) provides girls from rural communities in the High Atlas mountain region with a safe, nurturing and well equipped boarding homes so they can have the opportunity of a secondary and college education.
EFA Morocco believe that everyone has the right to an education, and that if you educate a girl, you educate the next generation as well. Founder and supporter is Mike McHugo.
Our Reach
Rural communities in Morocco where there is a high level of school exclusion and illiteracy among young girls. They rarely continue their education after primary school because they live too far away from schools and their families cannot afford transportation or boarding facilities.
Actions & Collaborations
EFA Morocco accommodate over 200 girls per year (11-18 years) in our boarding houses and provide 3 nutritious meals a day, access to books and computers, a house mother and transportation to go home on weekends at no cost to the student or their family.
Positive Impacts
In 2019, 100% passed the Baccalaureate programme and over 130 are enrolled at University with two studying their Master’s degree. EFA need individual and corporate sponsors for fundraising, sponsoring the running costs of EFA houses and providing an internship work experience programme in hotels and tourism.
